District-wide Focus on Math Grants = $80,000
- $50,000 – Math Curriculum Investments– grades 6-12: This curriculum will position the District to make the changes needed related to our math leveling up plan and curriculum pilots in 2025-2026
- $30,000 – Professional Development Math Leveling Up Initiative. 6-12 grades including the Summer Math Institute and professional development in 2025-2026: This grant supports the District’s Math Leveling Up Initiative. This includes new curriculum development, training for teachers, revised course scheduling and adjustments to academic and career planning support and allows for students to take Algebra in 8th grade and to learn challenging mathematics content to support their academic and career goals.
District-wide Technology, Curriculum & Support Grants = $117,336
$13,000 Early release Wednesday after school enrichment programming, K-6: This grant starts second semester and will help reduce fees for all participants. It provides enrichment programming options for families who need student supervision on early release days, while also preserving professional development and collaborative work time for K-8 teachers.
$32,711 iPad instructional software and STEM devices, K5-2: This grant aids in the replacement of outdated equipment and software for our youngest elementary students.
$15,000 Teacher Summer 2025 Curriculum Stipends, All Grades: This grant provided support to teachers involved in year-round curriculum evaluation, improvement, and realignment with focus this year on science, health, PE, and English language arts.
$3,000 Lake Bluff Mural: This grant, in collaboration with the LB PTO, provided funds for the creation of an original tile wall mural, designed and created by the students of Lake Bluff, in commemoration of Lake Bluff’s 100th anniversary.
$3,625 Athletic Department Scoring Table, grades 7-12: This grant went towards purchasing a new, updated scores table with a state-of-the-art, technologically advanced system. The new scores table will incorporate innovative features to improve functionality, reliability, and aesthetics, ultimately elevating the overall experience for athletes, spectators, and event organizers in the SHS arena.
The Shorewood Foundation gave a special one-time grant in the amount of 50K to the Shorewood School District to support the projects below. This enabled SEED to reallocate 50K to the Fund the Future Match Campaign for a total investment of a 100K towards the Educate Forward Endowment.
$1,500 Library Media Center Staff Summer Stipends K-8:
This grant supports needed inventory work, collection analyses and evaluations, and to order new materials, including resources to support new topics of interest and the updated ELA curriculum
$5,200 3D Printers for Project Lead the Way, grades 7-12:
This grant provides for the purchase of new 3D printers allowing teachers and students to access expanding online technology resources for hands-on STEM learning.
$5,924 Elementary Playground Communication Boards, K-6 Atwater & Lake Bluff: This grant allows for the purchase of two devices that help create an equitable and inclusive recess environment where emergent communicators can interact with peers and build connections.
$21,487 Pin by Pin- Bowling Alley Repair, K-12:
This grant supports restoration and upgrades of key components of the historic SHS bowling alley.
$3,600 5th Grade Peacemakers Workshop, Lake Bluff: This grant supports the Peacemaker’s program which helps students build essential conflict resolution and leadership skills through cooperative games, role-playing and small group discussions.
$12,289 iPads for grades K5-2: This grant allows for the purchases of iPads for our younger students in K5 through 2nd grade.
