Public Education is Under Attack
Wisconsin limits on funding per Shorewood student declined 20% over 20 years after inflation.
“When you account for inflation, the SHS graduating class of 2023 received about 20% less funding for public education than my SHS class of 2002. That strikes me as an injustice. The recent operating referendum is a stop-gap measure that helps only through 2028. I’m donating to help ‘Fund the Future’. SEED’s Educate Forward Endowment Fund has steadily grown to $1 Million over the last 10 years. Now, with your contributions, we can meet the FUND THE FUTURE match! Building the endowment to $3 Million will generate approximately $150k+ each year from the fund’s principal. Your endowment gift will continue giving to generations of Shorewood students.
You are invited to a Fund the Future Party on Friday, June 19th, from 6pm to 8pm at Sarah & Peter Hammond’s home. Champagne, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served. Donate $1K to the Fund the Future match for 2 complimentary tickets or attend for $200 per person.
Back this year! A special thank you dinner will be held at Lake Park Bistro in August 2026 for donors who give at the Future Forward level or higher ($3,000+).
