SEED Think Space

New SEED Think Space Opens at Shorewood High School thanks to SEED Donors Giving Back 25K!

The Shorewood SEED Foundation has sponsored the creation of the SEED Think Space, a newly renovated room at Shorewood High School next to the Library on the second floor of the Main Academic Building.

The SEED Think Space offers open, flexible workspace for students to collaborate and create in a non-traditional, modern classroom environment. The new space is more than just a creation space or maker space; it is a model workspace that will help familiarize students with the kind of environment they will find in college and in their future workplace.

This new room includes reconfigurable furniture, dry erase white boards, dividers and table tops that students can use to write down ideas when designing a project or creating ideas. Small workspaces can be divided out and collaborative presentation areas are enhanced by screen sharing monitors and tables with charging ports hidden within them. A larger work area is centralized in the room, comprised of two mobile reconfigurable tables. A less formal work area with soft-sided furniture is also a unique feature of this room.

Beyond the new furniture, the Collaboration Space will include a wall-mounted laptop storage unit for student to use. A floating LCD projector is also available so that any whiteboard area can be used as a projection screen. This unique space is much more than an average classroom — it is an ideal space for authentic learning in action.
